Enterprise and Work Related Learning In Schools

The 21st Century World of Work bears little resemblance to that which existed when our Education System was developed.

The concept of a job or even a career for life is no longer relevant. Yet we still encourage students to think primarily in terms of a single career rather than a Career Portfolio.

Many people will have as many as twelve different careers in their working lives.

Work Related Learning and Enterprise Education must take this new order into account when seeking to provide young people with the skills and knowledge they will require when they move from education to paid employment.

TSK Minerva Ltd offers opportunities for students to develop and practice Transferable rather than specific Work Skills.

Every training package will be tailored to suit the needs of a particular school or group of students.

In consultation with a range of Businesses and Employers we have identified skills that are non specific and yet considered essential for career success.

Non Specific Essential Work Skills, Includes:

Ability to work Independently

Ability to Communicate Effectively to a range of audiences

Ability to Complete Tasks set

Ability to Work as Part of a Team

Good Time Keeping

Ability to Problem Solve

Ability to adapt to Change

Good Personal Organisation

As part of our work with the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, we have planned and delivered Enterprise and Work Related Learning Days to Year Groups of Secondary students both in and out of school.

Our experience of working with disaffected and disengaged students means that we are ideally placed to offer specific courses and days to young people outside of Mainstream Education.
